president obama was just about an hour ago at the headquarters for fema in washington, d.c. before making his way up here to atlantic city. of course this meeting is very important, because governor chris christie has said over and over again that fema will play a huge part in the recovery following the wreckage here in new jersey after landfall on monday. you can see the shrapnel from the northernmost end of that iconic boardwalk. many houses also damaged. even some of the residents that have chosen to stay are starting to get power back and starting to assess the damage and start the rebuilding effort. many residents were using the power to get pumps and start pumping water out of their flooded homes. meanwhile, parks of the boardwalk remained. bull dozers and national guard we are coming in to assess that damage and clean that up as well. as far as the damage other places in new jersey. world throughout the mormg of several fires. fires are breaking out all morning, said to be due to natural gas. other towns remain extremely damaged and reeling from the disaster. of cours
